A comforting dish featuring tender chicken thighs smothered in a creamy gravy with fluffy rice, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4–6 chicken thighs (bone-in or boneless)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • Optional: 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken: Pat the chicken dry and season generously with salt, black pepper, paprika, and dried thyme.
  2. Sear the chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken on both sides until golden brown, then remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté the onions: In the same skillet, cook the diced onion until softened.
  4. Add the garlic: Add minced garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
  5. Create the gravy: Sprinkle flour over the onion mixture and stir well. Gradually pour in chicken broth while stirring continuously to create a smooth gravy.
  6. Combine rice and gravy: Stir the rice into the gravy mixture, ensuring it is evenly distributed.
  7. Simmer with chicken: Return the chicken to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 20–25 minutes until the rice is tender and the chicken is fully cooked.
  8. Make it creamy (optional): If desired, stir in heavy cream for a richer, creamier texture.
  9. Garnish and serve: Finish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes
