A comforting Turkey Chili, loaded with spices and hearty beans, perfect for warming up on cool autumn days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Brown the Turkey: In a large pot over medium heat, cook the ground turkey until browned. Use a spatula to break it apart as it cooks.
  2. Sauté the Aromatics: Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Combine the Ingredients: Stir in the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, chicken broth, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring to a Boil and Simmer: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let simmer for 30 minutes.
  5. Serve with Love: Serve hot with optional toppings as desired.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños or hot sauce. For a thicker chili, let it simmer uncovered for the last 10 minutes.
