A colorful twist on the classic candy apple, these Sweet Ocean Candy Apples evoke a beachy vibe with their vibrant colors and sweet flavor.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium apples
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (blue, green, etc.)
  • Sprinkles (optional)
  • Sticks or skewers for the apples

Instructions

  1. Clean and prepare the apples by washing and drying thoroughly. Insert sticks into the top of each apple.
  2. Create the sweet candy syrup by combining sugar, corn syrup, and water in a saucepan. Heat over medium until boiling, swirling occasionally.
  3. Perfect the candy stage by reducing the heat and adding vanilla extract. Continue cooking until it reaches 300°F (149°C).
  4. Add your desired food coloring quickly after removing from heat, swirling gently.
  5. Dip each apple into the syrup until fully coated.
  6. Place the coated apples on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Decorate with sprinkles if desired, before the coating fully sets.
  8. Allow to cool completely before serving.

Notes

Ensure apples are well washed and dried to help syrup adhere. Use a candy thermometer for accuracy.
