A delightful and fresh appetizer featuring creamy ricotta and sweet strawberries on crispy baguette slices, perfect for any gathering.

  • 1 French baguette, sliced into ½-inch thick rounds
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese (whole milk preferred)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, finely sliced (for garnish)
  • Balsamic glaze, to drizzle on top

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Arrange the sliced baguette rounds on a baking sheet.
  3. Brush each slice with olive oil.
  4. Bake for 6–8 minutes, or until golden and crisp.
  5. Mix the ricotta cheese with a sprinkle of salt and black pepper.
  6. Chop the fresh strawberries into small pieces.
  7. Spread a generous layer of the ricotta mixture onto each toasted baguette slice.
  8. Spoon the chopped strawberries onto the ricotta-covered slices.
  9. Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the top.
  10. Garnish with finely sliced fresh basil leaves.
  11. Serve immediately to enjoy fresh and vibrant flavors!
