A light and refreshing dessert that captures the essence of summer with its silky strawberry goodness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 packet unflavored gelatin (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons water (if using gelatin)
  • Homemade Strawberry Sauce (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Puree the fresh strawberries in a blender or food processor until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Whip the heavy cream in a separate bowl until soft peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.
  3. Prepare the gelatin (if using) by dissolving it in 2 tablespoons of water and letting it bloom for a few minutes. Heat it gently until fully dissolved, then mix into the strawberry puree.
  4. Combine the strawberry puree with the whipped cream, gently folding until fully incorporated.
  5. Chill the mousse in serving dishes for at least 120 minutes to set.
  6. Present the mousse chilled, topped with homemade strawberry sauce.

Notes

Try pairing with fresh mint leaves or crushed graham crackers for added texture. Substitute gelatin for a vegan option.
