Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water to remove excess starch.
  2. Combine the rinsed rice with water in a pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger to the skillet. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Add the ground turkey, breaking it into small pieces. Cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes.
  6. Stir in soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, 1 tablespoon sriracha, and 1 tablespoon honey. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, remaining 1 tablespoon sriracha, and 1 tablespoon honey to make the bang bang sauce.
  8. Divide the cooked rice among bowls, topping with the spicy turkey mixture. Drizzle with the bang bang sauce.
  9. Finish off with sliced green onions and sprinkle sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute ground turkey with tofu. The bang bang sauce can be made in advance.
