Slow Cooker Baked Ziti

A comforting and easy slow-cooked baked ziti that brings the rich flavors of Italy to your table.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente; then drain.
  2. Mix the marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese in a mixing bowl.
  3. Sauté the ground beef or Italian sausage in a skillet until browned, if using.
  4. Layer half of the cooked pasta at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining pasta, cheese mixture, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 2-3 hours.
  7. Melt the remaining mozzarella on top before serving.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to customize with vegetables or different cheeses; excellent as leftovers.
