Rich, gooey cookies that combine sweet caramel with chocolatey goodness, topped with a sprinkle of sea salt.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup caramel bits
  • Sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and caramel bits.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  8. Sprinkle a little sea salt on top of each cookie.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set.
  10. Let the cookies cool before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.
