A simple yet flavorful dish with savory sausage and tender cabbage, perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound sausage (like kielbasa or smoked sausage)
  • 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes or other seasonings

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Bring in the minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
  4. Slice the sausage and add to the skillet. Cook until browned, around 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet and stir everything together.
  6. Sprinkle in salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings.
  7. Let everything cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Serve warm as a main dish or alongside other side dishes.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Can also be frozen and reheated.
