A comforting dish of crispy chicken coated in pretzel crumbs, paired with a creamy mustard-cheddar sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups pretzel crumbs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Season your chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Create a breading station with three plates: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with pretzel crumbs.
  3. Dredge each seasoned chicken breast in flour, dip it in the eggs, and coat it with pretzel crumbs.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the chicken until golden brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  5. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and bake for 15-20 minutes until fully cooked.
  6. Mix shredded cheddar cheese, Dijon mustard, and mayonnaise in a bowl to create the sauce.
  7. Serve the chicken warm, drizzling the creamy mustard-cheddar sauce on top.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider marinating chicken in buttermilk before breading. If short on time, use store-bought pretzel crumbs.
