Delightfully fresh and tropical candy apples infused with pineapple juice and zesty lemonade.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium apples
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup lemonade
  • Red food coloring (optional)
  • Chopped nuts or sprinkles for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Insert a stick into the top of each apple.
  3. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, water, pineapple juice, and lemonade. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
  4. Increase the heat and bring the mixture to a boil. Cook without stirring until it reaches 300°F.
  5. Dip each apple into the candy mixture, letting the excess drip off before placing it on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts or sprinkles on the coated apples before the candy hardens.
  7. Let the candy apples cool completely before serving.

Notes

These apples are best served fresh as the candy can become sticky over time if not stored properly. Pair with vanilla ice cream for an added treat!
