  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Combine the sugar, corn syrup, butter, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat until it reaches a soft ball stage (around 240°F).
  2. Remove the saucepan from heat, and stir in the vanilla extract and chopped pecans.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then shape it into a log on wax paper.
  4. Roll the log in powdered sugar until coated.
  5. Wrap in wax paper or plastic wrap and refrigerate until set, then slice into rounds.
