A comforting one-pan meal featuring seasoned ground beef and orzo pasta, baked to perfection with a cheesy topping.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional, for topping)
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef over medium heat in a large oven-safe skillet and drain excess fat.
  3. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until the onion is translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Combine the diced tomatoes, beef broth, orzo, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Bake covered for 20-25 minutes or until the orzo is tender and the liquid has mostly absorbed.
  6. Add cheese on top and bake uncovered for an additional 5 minutes to melt and brown the cheese.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Feel free to substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option. Adding vegetables can enhance nutrition and flavor.
