Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breasts (cut into 1-inch cubes)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp red chili pepper flakes (optional)
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp water (to thin out the glaze)
  • 2 tbsp cold butter
  • Chopped chives (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cut and season the chicken with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Coat with cornstarch and mix well.
  3. Heat the avocado oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear the chicken for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Sauté the minced garlic and red chili flakes for approximately a minute until fragrant.
  6. Prepare the sauce by stirring in honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and water; let it simmer for about 2 minutes.
  7. Finish the sauce with cold butter until glossy and luscious.
  8. Coat the chicken in the sauce until generously coated.
  9. Serve and enjoy, garnished with freshly chopped chives.

Notes

Serve with jasmine rice or steamed broccoli for a complete meal. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
