Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add 1/2 cup of chilled, cubed unsalted butter into the flour mixture.
  4. Press the dough into mini tart pans.
  5. Bake the crusts in your preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  6. Whisk together 2 large eggs, 1/2 cup of milk, 1/4 cup of heavy cream, 1/4 cup of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  7. Pour the custard mixture into the pre-baked tart shells.
  8. Return the tarts to the oven for another 15 minutes.
  9. Cool the tarts in their pans for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve with fresh berries, whipped cream, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
