A rich and moist bundt cake with an irresistible buttery flavor and warm butter sauce.

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for butter sauce)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (for butter sauce)
  • 1/4 cup water (for butter sauce)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (for butter sauce)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Grease and flour a bundt pan thoroughly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Mix well.
  4. Add butter, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Beat until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and bake for 60-70 minutes.
  6. While the cake bakes, prepare the butter sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
  7. Poke holes in the top of the cake once baked.
  8. Pour the warm butter sauce generously over the hot cake.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 30 minutes before transferring it to a plate.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for a delightful treat.
