Delightful crispy potato cheese sticks that combine creamy cheese and golden potatoes, perfect as an appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 large potatoes
  • 1 cup grated cheese (e.g., cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Peel and boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash. Let cool.
  2. Mix in the grated cheese along with salt and pepper.
  3. Shape the mixture into slim sticks, about four inches long.
  4. Dredge each stick in flour, dip in whisked egg, and coat with breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the sticks until golden brown on all sides, around 3-4 minutes.
  6. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil and serve warm.

Notes

Serve with a creamy dipping sauce like ranch or garlic aioli. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.
