A rich, fudgy dessert that combines the best of cake and bread with luscious pockets of gooey chocolate and hot fudge.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup hot fudge sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Mix the melted butter and sugar until combined.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mix, whisking until smooth.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and hot fudge sauce.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally with a scoop of ice cream.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month.
