A simple Homemade Pizza Dough recipe that elevates any pizza night into a cherished event.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water (about 110°F)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm water and sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Mix the dough: Mix until a dough forms and knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let it rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out your dough: Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.

Notes

If your kitchen is chilly, you can preheat your oven to the lowest setting for a minute, then turn it off and place the dough inside to rise. Kneading the dough is essential; if it feels sticky, you can add more flour. For extra flavor, mix in dried oregano or basil.
