Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry Swirls

Irresistibly flaky swirls filled with ham, cheese, and Dijon mustard, perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 4 slices ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.
  3. Spread the Dijon mustard evenly over the surface of the pastry, leaving a small border for sealing.
  4. Arrange the four slices of ham evenly across the mustard-covered pastry.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheese and black pepper on top of the ham.
  6. Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the pastry into a log and pinch the seam to seal.
  7. Using a sharp knife, cut the log into 12 slices, each about 1 cm thick.
  8. Whisk together the egg and milk in a small bowl to create an egg wash and brush it over the tops of the swirls.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden and puffed.
  10. Allow the swirls to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve with a tangy dipping sauce or alongside a fresh salad for a complete meal.
