Scale
  • 4 slices of sourdough bread
  • 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup of shredded provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 pound of thinly sliced deli meats (such as salami, capicola, or turkey)
  • 1/2 cup of roasted red peppers, sliced
  • 1/4 cup of mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients by slicing the sourdough bread and the roasted red peppers.
  2. Combine the mozzarella, provolone, and Parmesan cheeses in a bowl and set aside.
  3. Spread the mayonnaise evenly on one side of each slice of bread and sprinkle Italian seasoning on top.
  4. Layer half of the cheese mixture on the unspread side of two slices of bread.
  5. Add a layer of your preferred deli meats over the cheese, followed by roasted red peppers.
  6. Top with the remaining cheese mixture and place the other two slices of bread on top, mayonnaise side up.
  7. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and carefully place the sandwiches in the skillet.
  8. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and crispy.
  9. Flip the sandwiches and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and both sides are golden brown.
  10. Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them rest for a minute before slicing in half.
  11. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauces.
