A comforting meal featuring garlic butter steak, creamy mashed potatoes, and roasted asparagus, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Steak (your choice of cut)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Butter
  • Garlic (minced)
  • Potatoes (for mashing)
  • Milk or cream (for mashed potatoes)
  • Asparagus (trimmed)
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the steak generously with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add butter. Once it’s melted and foaming, stir in the minced garlic and then add the steak. Cook to your desired doneness, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
  2. While the steak is sizzling away, bring a pot of salted water to boil. Add the potatoes and cook until tender when pierced with a fork, about 15 minutes.
  3. Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash them with milk or cream, more butter, and a pinch of salt until they’re creamy and smooth.
  4. In another pan, toss the trimmed asparagus with a drizzle of olive oil, salt, and pepper. Roast in an oven preheated to 400°F (200°C) for about 15 minutes until tender and slightly caramelized.
  5. Plate the juicy steak alongside a generous scoop of creamy mashed potatoes and the vibrant roasted asparagus. If desired, finish with a sprinkle of fresh herbs for that extra pop of color and flavor.

Notes

For best results, let the steak come to room temperature before cooking. Use a meat thermometer for doneness.
