Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for serving

Instructions

  1. Whisk the dry ingredients in a medium bowl until combined.
  2. Mix the wet ingredients in another bowl and blend until smooth.
  3. Combine the wet mixture with the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Heat the oil in a deep pan to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Drizzle the batter into the hot oil, forming a spiral shape.
  6. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Drain the oil on paper towels once fried.
  8. Dust generously with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
