Indulge in the delightful hybrid of fudgy brownies and chewy cookie dough with these delicious brookies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup cookie dough (pre-made or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and grease the pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan to ensure those delicious brookies release easily after baking.
  2. Prepare the butter mixture: In a mixing bowl, melt the butter and mix in brown sugar and granulated sugar until creamy.
  3. Incorporate the eggs: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is well blended before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the dry ingredients: In another bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually whisk this dry mix into the butter-sugar-egg mixture until just combined.
  5. Add the chocolate chips: Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Layer the brownie batter: Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  7. Add cookie dough: Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough on top of the brownie batter.
  8. Top with brownie batter: Pour the remaining brownie batter over the cookie dough.
  9. Swirl for effect: Use a knife to gently swirl the two batters together slightly.
  10. Bake to perfection: Place the pan in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  11. Cool and serve: Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
