A hearty casserole blending the rich flavors of French onion soup with tender chicken and orzo, topped with gooey cheese.

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups French onion soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (such as Swiss or Gruyère)
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sauté the diced onions and minced garlic in olive oil until the onions become translucent (about 5 minutes).
  3. Brown the chicken pieces, seasoned with salt and pepper, until browned (5-7 minutes).
  4. Combine the cooked chicken and onion mixture with the orzo and French onion soup in a large bowl.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish, spreading evenly.
  6. Add the shredded cheese on top.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until cheese is melted and golden brown.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
