Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3/4 cup sugar for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Stir together your flour, baking soda, and baking powder until well mixed.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
  5. Blend in the dry ingredients gradually.
  6. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place them onto ungreased baking pans.
  7. Flatten each ball using the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.
  8. Bake for about 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden around the edges.
  9. Cool on wire racks.
