Delightfully soft and chewy cookies rolled in cinnamon-sugar, evoking nostalgic memories of baking in grandma’s kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp cream of tartar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp sugar (for rolling)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  6. Mix together 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in a small bowl.
  7. Roll the dough into balls and coat each in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Serve alongside milk or tea for a perfect treat. Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
