Deliciously crispy churros coated in sugar and cinnamon, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Combine water, 2 tablespoons sugar, salt, and vegetable oil in a saucepan. Bring to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in flour and baking powder until the dough forms a ball.
  3. Heat oil for frying in a deep skillet to 375°F (190°C).
  4. Pipe the dough into the hot oil in desired shapes and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  6. Mix 1/2 cup sugar with cinnamon and toss warm churros in the mixture before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with hot chocolate or fresh fruit for dipping.
