Dubai Chocolate Cake

A rich and moist chocolate cake with silky ganache, inspired by the indulgent flavors of Dubai.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup heavy cream (for ganache)
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (for ganache)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Mix the flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture and mix until smooth.
  4. Incorporate boiling water into the batter until well combined.
  5. Divide the batter between the prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely on wire racks.
  8. Prepare the ganache by boiling the heavy cream and pouring it over the chocolate chips. Stir until smooth.
  9. Assemble the cake by layering ganache between the two cake layers and pouring remaining ganache on top.
  10. Decorate as desired and serve.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature, or refrigerate for up to a week.
