Deliciously nostalgic cookies that combine chewy oats and rich chocolate chips, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl, then gradually add this dry mixture to the creamed mixture.
  5. Fold in the rolled oats and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving space between each.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool on the cookie sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature butter and avoid over-mixing the dough.
