Tender beef chuck roast simmered in a savory broth, served on hoagie rolls with optional melted provolone cheese.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 hoagie rolls
  • Sliced provolone cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the beef chuck roast in the bottom of your crockpot.
  2. Add the sliced onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and seasoning.
  3. Pour in the beef broth.
  4. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  5. Shred the beef right in the pot with two forks.
  6. Serve the tender beef on hoagie rolls, topped with provolone cheese if desired.

Notes

For richer flavor, sear the chuck roast before placing it in the crockpot. Experiment with additional herbs and veggies.
