Crispy Lebanese Arayes

A delightful blend of spiced meat wrapped in crispy pita bread, perfect for dinner or as an appetizer.

Ingredients

  • Pita bread
  • Ground lamb or beef
  • Onion, finely chopped
  • Garlic, minced
  • Spices (cumin, paprika, allspice)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven or grill to medium heat.
  2. Mix the filling: combine the ground meat, onion, garlic, cumin, paprika, allspice, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Prepare the pita pockets by cutting the pita bread in half.
  4. Fill each pita pocket with the seasoned meat mixture.
  5. Brush the outside of each filled pita with olive oil.
  6. Bake or grill for about 10-15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

These arayes are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored for up to three days in an airtight container.
