A creamy and flavorful Cajun sausage pasta dish that offers a delightful blend of spices and comfort for any meal.

  • 1 lb Cajun sausage
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Parmesan or Cheddar)
  • 2 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and bell pepper. Sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Toss in the Cajun sausage, breaking it apart. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle in the Cajun seasoning and stir for an additional minute.
  5. Add the penne pasta, chicken broth, and heavy cream. Stir to combine.
  6. Bring to a simmer, cover, and let cook for approximately 15 minutes until the pasta is al dente.
  7. Stir in the shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with additional cheese or fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Pairs well with a fresh green salad or garlic bread. For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half.
