A moist and fluffy coffee cake with a delightful cinnamon-sugar swirl, perfect for cozy mornings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the sour cream and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  5. Mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, sprinkle with half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture, then add the remaining batter.
  7. Top with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture and chopped nuts if desired.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Can freeze slices for up to 3 months.
