A delightful treat that combines the flavors of churros in a sweet and crunchy toffee topped with chocolate and cinnamon sugar.

  • 1 sleeve of saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
  3. Arrange your saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  4. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter and brown sugar together.
  5. Allow the mixture to boil for 3–4 minutes without stirring.
  6. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  7. Carefully pour the toffee mixture over the arranged saltines.
  8. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 5–7 minutes.
  9. Once baked, remove from the oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot toffee.
  10. Using a spatula, gently spread the melted chocolate evenly over the toffee.
  11. In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon, then sprinkle this mixture over the melted chocolate.
  12. Allow the toffee to cool completely before breaking it into pieces.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. Can substitute saltine crackers with gluten-free options.
