Classic, chewy chocolate chip cookies with a crispy edge and a soft center, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream together the unsalted butter with the granulated and brown sugars and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  5. Gradually blend in your dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Gently stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  9. Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for about 30 minutes before baking. Can add nuts or other chocolate flavors for variety.
