A comforting classic upgraded with melty cheese and smoky ham, all encased in crispy breadcrumbs.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 4 slices of smoked ham
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup creamy cheese sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Butterfly the chicken breasts carefully to create a pocket for the filling, then season with salt and pepper.
  3. Inside each butterflied breast, place a slice of ham followed by a slice of Swiss cheese.
  4. Gently fold the chicken over to enclose the ham and cheese, ensuring the filling is well-sealed.
  5. Dredge each stuffed chicken breast in flour, then dip in the beaten eggs, followed by breadcrumbs.
  6. Place the chicken in a greased baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. While the chicken bakes, prepare the creamy cheese sauce.
  8. Once done, drizzle the creamy cheese sauce over the top and serve with sides.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes.
