Indulge in these rich and gooey caramel brownies that combine chocolatey goodness with sweet swirls of caramel.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter and mix in the sugar until well combined.
  3. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan.
  6. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the batter and swirl with a knife.
  7. Layer the remaining brownie batter on top, followed by the rest of the caramel sauce.
  8. Add nuts on top for a crunchy contrast, if using.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes.
  10. Cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use dark cocoa powder. Keep leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
