A simple and delightful buttercream frosting recipe perfect for cakes, cupcakes, or cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter in a large bowl until creamy.
  2. Add the powdered sugar gradually, beating on low speed until combined.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and vanilla extract, and beat on high speed until light and fluffy.
  4. Season with a pinch of salt and mix well.
  5. Get ready to frost immediately or store in an airtight container.

Notes

For a less sweet frosting, add more cream or some cream cheese. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to one week.
