A fun and nutritious twist on classic burgers, featuring crispy potato chips, seasoned beef, and tangy burger sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano or mixed herbs
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 23 medium potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (divided)
  • 500 grams lean beef mince
  • Lettuce (shredded)
  • Cheese (dairy-free or regular)
  • Pickle slices
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon mustard (dijon or yellow)
  • 1 teaspoon pickle juice (from the jar of pickles)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Mix your spice magic: Combine the spices in a small bowl to create a flavorful spice mix.
  2. Prepare the potatoes: Wash and cut the potatoes into chip shapes, toss in olive oil and half of the spice mix.
  3. Bake or air fry the chips: Arrange the spiced potato chips and bake at 200°C (390°F) for 30-40 minutes or air fry for about 20 minutes.
  4. Brown the beef: Heat olive oil in a frying pan, brown the beef mince, and add the rest of the spice mix.
  5. Whisk together the burger sauce: Combine mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and pickle juice in a small bowl.
  6. Assemble your bowls: Divide chips, layer with lettuce, seasoned beef, cheese, and drizzle with the sauce.
