A warm and cozy treat infused with the rich flavor of brown butter and sweet maple syrup, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for the glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown and nutty.
  3. Whisk together the brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Stir in the browned butter.
  5. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl, then gradually add to the wet mixture.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the bars cool in the pan.
  9. Mix the powdered sugar and milk with maple syrup until smooth for the glaze.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bars and cut into squares.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Reheat in the microwave for a fresh taste.
