  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Whipped cream or ice cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold, cubed butter until crumbled.
  4. Stir in the milk until just combined.
  5. Knead the dough gently on a floured surface.
  6. Roll out the dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut into rounds.
  7. Mix apples with cinnamon, brown sugar, and lemon juice.
  8. Assemble by placing half the rounds on a baking sheet, topping with the apple mixture, then covering with the remaining rounds.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.

Notes

Keep butter and milk cold for flakier biscuits. You can prepare the dough ahead of time and refrigerate it for up to 24 hours.
