  • 2 Star anise
  • 1 lb Beef (sliced thinly)
  • 8 oz Rice noodles
  • 1 cup Thai basil
  • 1 Lime (cut into wedges)
  • 4 cups Beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Ginger (grated)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 2 Green onions (sliced)

Instructions

  1. Infuse the broth: In a pot, combine beef broth with star anise, ginger, and garlic. Bring to a gentle simmer and let the flavors meld for 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the noodles: Cook rice noodles according to package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
  3. Add the beef: Thinly slice your beef and add it to the simmering broth for just a few minutes until it transforms from pink to tender perfection.
  4. Assemble the bowls: Place the cooked noodles into serving bowls and ladle the steaming broth and beef over the noodles.
  5. Garnish and serve: Top each bowl with Thai basil, a squeeze of lime, and sliced green onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, swap the beef for tofu or extra vegetables. Garnish with mint or cilantro for added flavor.
