Delightful brownies infused with the comforting flavors of banana bread and topped with smooth brown butter frosting.

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. Combine the mashed bananas and melted brown butter in a large bowl.
  3. Add the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the banana-butter mixture and mix until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding gently until just combined.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before frosting.
  9. Mix additional browned butter with powdered sugar and milk until smooth for the frosting.
  10. Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies, cut into squares, and serve.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor. Ensure brownies are completely cool before frosting.
