A delightful dessert combining tender baked apples with a crunchy, sweet, and buttery topping.

  • 4 cups sliced apples
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples with cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss until the apples are well-coated and then spread them evenly in a baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the rolled oats, brown sugar, flour, and melted butter until the mixture resembles a crumbly texture.
  4. Sprinkle the oat mixture generously over the prepared apples.
  5. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.

Notes

For extra flavor, use a mix of sweet and tart apples and serve with vanilla ice cream.
