Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of bread (sourdough or French)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz smoked salmon
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/4 cup capers, rinsed and drained

  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). This is where the magic begins!
  2. Prepare the bread by cutting the top off the loaf and hollowing out the inside, leaving a thick shell.
  3. Mix the cream cheese, smoked salmon, dill, capers, and red onion in a bowl until well combined.
  4. Assemble the loaf by filling the hollowed bread with the mixture and replacing the top.
  5. Bake the stuffed bread wrapped in foil for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Cool slightly, then slice and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing. For added flavor, consider a squeeze of lemon juice in the filling.
