A delightful blend of fluffy rice infused with spices like garlic and onion powder, capturing the essence of Texas Roadhouse in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: Diced onions, chopped green bell peppers, pinch of cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by chopping the onions and bell peppers if using.
  2. In a pot, heat the butter or olive oil over medium heat until bubbly.
  3. If using, add the chopped onions to the pot and sauté until translucent.
  4. Add the rice and stir for 2-3 minutes until slightly golden.
  5. Stir in broth, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried parsley, salt, and pepper.
  6. Bring the mixture to a boil. Then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes without lifting the lid.
  7. After cooking, remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes.
  8. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.

Notes

Do not rinse the rice before cooking for a creamy texture. Feel free to experiment with different broths and spices.
