A comforting dessert that transforms overripe bananas and stale bread into a warm, indulgent banana bread pudding topped with caramel sauce.

Ingredients

  • 4 overripe bananas, mashed
  • 4 cups of leftover bread, cubed
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • Caramel sauce for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas, milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add the cubed bread to the mixture and stir until well coated.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the pudding is set.
  6. Let it cool slightly, then drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.

Notes

Make sure to use overripe bananas for natural sweetness. You can substitute different types of bread and add in nuts or chocolate chips for extra flavor.
