  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Pour the melted butter into the mashed bananas and mix together.
  4. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  5. Sprinkle in the baking soda and salt, mixing well.
  6. Add all-purpose flour and cocoa powder to the mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. If using, gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 60-65 minutes, checking with a toothpick for doneness.
  10. Let cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Make sure your bananas are ripe for maximum sweetness. Substitute cocoa powder with extra flour if necessary, but you’ll lose the chocolate flavor.
