  • 3 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to set the stage for some cookie magic.
  2. Mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Set this mixture aside for later.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  4. Incorporate the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, mixing until well combined.
  5. Combine the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until no dry flour is visible.
  6. Fold in the Rice Krispies and chocolate chips gently.
  7. Shape tablespoon-sized balls of dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
  9. Cool cookies on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For chewier cookies, use more brown sugar. To prevent spreading, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
